Since
1909, The Children's Home has cared for children and youth in
need. Through the years, many changes have occurred in both
the way The Home cares for children and the children needing
care. One thing has always remained the same, The Children's
Home is committed to helping children and families making The
Children's Home truly
In recent years, The Children's Home has undergone significant changes, including
becoming licensed by the State of North Carolina as a Mental Health
Residential Treatment Center. The Home has also been licensed
as a Mental Health Day Treatment Program and a Child Placing Agency for
Family Foster Care and Therapeutic Foster Care.
Through the changes, The Children's Home has maintained its historical
mission of caring for children, while continuing to value its
connection with the United Methodist Church. This is an
exciting time in the life of The Children's Home -- a time of new
beginnings, a time for embracing new challenges in meeting the ever
changing needs of today's families. Now, more than ever, it
is important that people learn of The Children's Home and all we have
to offer families in crisis.
The Children's
Home is continuing to reach out to those in need, embracing its mission
to children and families, heeding the words of Jesus, "Truly I say to
you, as you did it to one of the least of these, my brethren, you did
it unto me".
