How
Do I Begin?
The application process begins with a
phone call to our Assessment Office at 336-721-7625. Referrals
can be made by anyone involved with the child, including community
support professionals, therapists, and other concerned parties.
However, to initiate the application process we must speak with the
child's legal guardian.
Our licensed counselors will conduct a
preliminary phone screening of the potential client, including the
presenting problem, current diagnoses, medications and history of
prior placements. This phone screening generally takes
approximately twenty to thirty minutes and allows both the legal
guardian and the counselor opportunity to ask appropriate questions
about the child's readiness to be part of our program. This
preliminary phone call also give assessment staff an opportunity to
advise the legal guardian of when there may be an opening in the
program which is appropriate for the client's needs.
What
Programs Do We Have?
The Children's Home offers a full
range of services for children and families under the new Medicaid
services definitions. Although most of our consumers are
Medicaid children, we do accept some private insurances. Our
services include outpatient therapy through Reynolda Counseling
Center, psychiatric services for children enrolled in one day of our
programs, Residential Levels II and III, traditional and therapeutic
foster care, Day Treatment, Community Support (formerly known as
case management or CBS workers) and Diagnostic Assessment.
Who
Can We Serve?
The age range of children served in
residential treatment is 12-17. The age range for Day
Treatment is 12-17. The age range served in both traditional
and therapeutic foster care is 0-21. Community Support,
Diagnostic Assessment and Reynolda Counseling Center serve clients
of all ages.
Have
Questions?
We're here to help. To start the
process, simply contact the Assessment Office at 336-721-7625.
We will be glad to discuss your child's individual strengths and
needs with you and help you determine what services best suit your
child. We then typically conduct an assessment with your child
and his or her family and support team members in order to determine
the very best combination of services we, and other community
service members, can provide. Every child's needs are unique,
and you can rest assured that our assessment therapists are Licensed

and to helping you help your child!
