Intensive-In Home

Intensive-In-Home Services at The Children’s Home is a time limited, structured family  approach to dealing with children and adolescents at significant risk for out of home placement due to their own mental health and/or substance abuse issues.

Services are delivered primarily in the family’s home and community.  The staff team and the family will work together to develop a schedule that includes a combination of services best suited to meet the needs of the child,         adolescent, and family.

Intensive-In-Home may include, but is not limited to: individual and family therapy, crisis services, substance abuse interventions, behavior management, parenting education, and anger management.

In order to be successful, Intensive-In-Home requires the full participation and cooperation of both the family and the team.  Staff will work to identify and build upon the family’s strengths and natural supports to promote    positive, healthy changes in the family system and in the child or adolescent’s behaviors.

There are numerous important principles that staff take into consideration when working with a family in our services.  They believe that children are better off with their own families whenever is safely possible.  We realize that troubled families can change.  We understand that family beliefs and values must be respected.  Staff know that a crisis is an opportunity for change.  Therefore through Intensive-In-Home Services it is our job to instill hope, and help families increase healthy functioning.  We will help you and your family to build and develop skills that will help your family succeed.
