The Children’s Home has a new residential resource for young children who have experienced trauma. 

The cottage serves twelve children male or female from age 6 through age 12.  A highly trained team is providing services including a physician assistant, nurses, therapists, recreational therapist, behavioral specialists and residential counselors. 

Complex trauma is often the result of abuse and neglect.  This service is available for children who can no longer live at home and very early in life have serious problems.  There is no service for these children in northern North Carolina or Southern Virginia.

Referrals are expected from psychiatrists, professional agencies, hospitals and social workers.
